ABSTRACT

The project aims at developing an ICT tool-box to motivate energy behavioural changeof energy end-users in buildings, providing tailored interventions that result in significant energy savings and better productivity, health and comfort.

GENERAL

DESCRIPTION

The main eTEACHER technical objectives (MTO) are the following:

 

1.        Carry out social studies to characterize energy end-users behaviour in different frameworks (buildings and roles) and identify effective ICT-based behavioural change techniques (games, energy visibility, etc.) in order to develop solutions (apps) and challenges (games) that encourage users to save energy and optimise comfort.

2.        Encourage behavioural change on the end use of energy (heating, lighting, small power) and indoor environmental quality through continuous ICT-based interventions leading to an annual energy reduction of 20% over the baseline

3.        Develop cost-effective and interoperable BACS services with easy deployment to process information from building and end-users, explore energy conservation measures based on behavioural change through Analysis and provide tailored advice on energy.

4.        Develop solutions that integrates ICT-based engagement and behavioural change techniques such as gamification (games, challenges, bonus system…) for different end-users according to social indicators and factors influencing energy efficiency, to motivate long-term behavioural change in different contexts and increase the awareness of potential energy savings using building facilities and home appliances

5.        Deploy, demonstrate and evaluate that eTEACHER tool-box (enabling change framework) is a cost-effective ICT solution easy to deploy and with positive acceptance that add value.
