Our purpose.
The general purpose of the Consortium Extremadura Energy Agency is to support the public sector of the Autonomous Community of Extremadura in the design and execution of relevant energy policies, assuming the powers delegated and carrying out the services assigned to AGENEX. The Agency also provides information and consultancy services to the public administration on the management, development and monitoring of its energy projects.
Specific activities in which AGENEX focuses are the following:
Providing a stable structure as a planning tool to support the energy development in the region. It offers advice on this matter to the public administration of the Autonomous Community of Extremadura.
Facilitating energy management and energy planning in the region.
Protecting the environment by reducing emissions of carbon dioxide and other polluting elements into the atmosphere.
Promoting energy self-sufficiency and energy efficiency.
Creating jobs in the energy sector through training and other capacity building actions.
Managing and implementing projects in the framework of regional, national, and European programmes in the field of energy.
Promoting the dialogue and joint collaborations among institutions, associations and other entities participating in the energy sector in the Region; acting as a meeting and exchange forum for private and public energy stakeholders in Extremadura.
Awareness raising actions among citizens, municipalities, associations, and other institutions and groups; focusing on promoting a rational and sustainable energy management.
Participating in energy research projects, together with relevant research entities and technology hubs, always seeking to raise R&D&i in the regional private sector.
Channelling and disseminating all information related to the energy coming from the administrations forming AGENEX Consortium.
Participating in international and EU forums and networks specialized in energy matters.
Advising public entities in Extremadura in the purchase of energy goods and services.
Exchanging experiences and information with public entities of any other administration specialized in energy matters.
Developing information and awareness programs for the general public, especially energy consumers in terms of energy saving and diversification. AGENEX will also be responsible for managing an Information and Advice Office on energy efficiency and rehabilitation of buildings, renewable energies, and sustainable mobility.
Organizing and implementing training actions on energy saving, efficiency and the use of renewable energies.
