Agenex participates in two European projects worth three million euros

The director of the Extremadura Energy Agency Consortium (AGENEX), Cosme Segador, has signed two European projects approved by the Interreg Europe program, SahreRES and MonitorEE, with a budget of three million euros.

The ShareRES project has a budget of 1.4 million euros, of which Agenex will manage 329,000 euros. It will promote the active participation of citizen energy communities in the energy market. The project's duration is four years, and the consortium counts with partners from Latvia, Ireland, Romania, Cyprus, and Slovenia.

The goal is to contribute to a more flexible and decarbonized energy system by improving the policies for active participation of energy communities. To achieve this, the partners will analyze current barriers and difficulties for forming energy communities, involving relevant public actors, sharing previous knowledge and experiences in the Consortium, creating tools and solutions based on these learnings, and promoting the development of local economies.

Meanwhile, the MonitorEE project aims to monitor the rehabilitation of existing buildings. It has a budget of 1.6 million euros, of which AGENEX will manage 335,850 euros. It will also be developed over four years, with partners from Croatia, Romania, Finland, the Energy and Climate Agency from Paris, and Poland.

In this case, the objective is to improve policies related to energy efficiency and building performance, analyzing the energy consumption of the buildings under study, studying possible improvement measures, simulating the theoretical demand after their implementation, and finally monitoring energy consumption and emissions after the improvements have been introduced.
