PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

OBJECTIVE.
This EIB-supported investment program aims to invest in energy efficiency and renewable energy measures integrated into public buildings in a total of 225 non-residential buildings owned by the Extremadura regional government. An average 30% of energy savings are expected and Renewable Energy sources will contribute for at least 25% of final energy use.

The project will mobilize a total of EUR 39 million energy investments (27.5 million EUR for energy efficiency and 11.5 million EUR for Renewable Energy Sources).

ACTIONS.
The renovation/rehabilitation of the Extremadura regional government buildings, will encompass the following actions:

Building envelope insulation.
Window renovation and improvement and updating of building glazing, HVAC systems and ventilation.
Hot sanitary water.
Interior lighting systems.
HVAC systems.
Energy management systems.
Renewable energy solutions (mainly photovoltaic plants and, if possible, solar thermal panels and biomass boilers).
