PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
The main objective of TRANSCOM’s EuroACE project is to facilitate the creation of energy communities with a cross-border and cooperative focus. To this end, it will develop a Cross-Border Community Advisory Service (STAC) within EUROACE. This service will allow to provide specialized support services for stakeholders potentially interested in the development of energy communities. These communities will involve local authorities, citizens, and SMEs, thereby contributing to a fair and inclusive energy transition, by promoting investments in sustainable energy infrastructure and encouraging the participation of persons and institutions that traditionally have never been involved in the energy sector.
STAC will be complemented by the creation of a common network of new energy communities on both sides of the Spanish-Portuguese border. This cross-border network will contribute to the optimization of the cross-border energy management services, including sustainable mobility services.
Three main lines of cross-border service activities are foreseen:
- The creation of a Cross-Border Community Advisory Service (STAC) to provide Energy-Community related advice on both sides of the border.
- The development of local energy communities in municipalities on both sides of the Spanish-Portuguese border, forming a transnational network of energy communities, with common tools for an optimal implementation of investments.
- The implementation of common sustainable mobility services, and the improvement of the interoperable cross-border EV charging point network, for the benefit of the communities and their members.
Finally, a series of studies and joint research activities are proposed, contributing to the optimization of the energy management services provided, analyze consumption patterns, and propose possibilities for improvement.
In addition, a series of joint studies and research actions will be carried out, with the aim of optimizing the energy performance of the services provided, analyzing consumption patterns, and proposing improvements.
